The biggest running events in Cyprus
With the Nicosia Marathon and the Limassol Marathon there are two big marathons on the island. Absolutely terrific is the Limassol Marathon, where you usually run on the promenade of Limassol right next to the sea. But you can also explore the city of Limassol by running. The marathon was held for the first time in 2016 and now takes place annually in the spring. Including all the fringe events, the event attracts 15,000 runners.
The marathon in Nicosia, which also attracts crowds of runners at the beginning of the year, has a similarly large field of participants.
Other notable races in Cyprus are the Cyprus Marathon in Paphos (March), the Larnaka Marathon in Larnaca (November) and the Aphrodite Race in Paphos (November).
