981 days had passed since the last staging of the Rock 'N' Roll Washington DC.
Back then, on March 9, 2019, the marathon, half-marathon and 5-kilometer races were run for best times. Now, on November 13, 2021, the event made its long-awaited comeback, but for the first time without a marathon race.
Half marathon and 5 kilometer
So this year, the United Airlines Rock 'n' Roll Washington DC focused on the half marathon. The running event opened at 8 a.m. with the 5-kilometer race, followed 30 minutes later by the starting gun for the half marathon, for which participants had up to four hours.
In the last edition for over two and a half years, Thomas Toth was the fastest half marathoner in Washington DC with 1:05:11 hours.
