1. Angkor Wat Half Marathon – Cambodia
Want to run like a god? Then lace up your shoes for the Angkor Wat Half Marathon! Set amid the majestic temple ruins of Angkor, this race catapults you straight into a UNESCO World Heritage site. As you run through the morning mist and monkeys curiously peek from the ruins, you can almost feel the rhythm of the past – and yes, also your own pulse quickening with every kilometer. This race isn’t about personal bests – it’s about the feeling of having history beneath your feet.
The half marathon is perfect for Asia newcomers and running romantics alike. Temples, tropical greenery, and an international field of runners make this event a special experience. And honestly – when else do you get to set a personal record among centuries-old stones?

2. Bagan Temple Marathon – Myanmar

The Bagan Temple Marathon is the stuff running dreams are made of – at least if you’re into sunrises, golden stupas, and epic scenery. Over 2,000 temples dot the dry plains around Bagan, and you have the honor of running right through them. The course is demanding, as the sun often means well – maybe a little too well – but every single turn rewards you with guaranteed goosebumps.
The spiritual atmosphere combined with the warmth of the Burmese spectators makes this run an unforgettable experience. Every step feels like meditation on asphalt – or sand, depending on where you are. Whether marathon, half marathon, or 10K – here you’ll get dangerously close to your inner peace.
Unfortunately, due to the political situation, the event has been paused indefinitely after 2022. Hopefully not forever...

Rainforest, endemic species, and… sudden downpours? Just as diverse as the jungle itself is the Borneo Marathon. Humid air, green walls all around, and the warm support of the locals make it less of a high-performance race but all the more unforgettable.
If the full marathon is too long, you can also opt for the half distance or 10 km. In our opinion, it’s perhaps the most beautiful marathon in Malaysia.
