Why are there so many running events over ten kilometers? Runs over this distance are a very exciting competitive distance for both beginners and experienced runners.

A successful marathon runner can run the ten kilometers quickly and includes a run over the 10 kilometers every now and then in the preparation for marathon training. The biggest 10 kilometer races in Germany

An evening run through Berlin
An absolute highlight is the "adidas Runners City Night" in Berlin. At this summer run, the focus is really on the runners over the ten kilometers. More than 5,000 runners compete over this distance in the hunt for new best times. Numerous top national runners are also at the start of this evening race, which does not start until 8:30 p.m. and leads through the city of Berlin. Times under 30 minutes are not uncommon here.
Things also get really fast in the summer at the Ludwigsburg City Run, where more than 2,000 people line up for the ten-kilometer run. Stars such as Sabrina Mockenhaupt and Arne Gabius have already signed the winners' list here. In winter, on the other hand, the AOK Winter Run Series in Duisburg attracts runners en masse to the classic competition discipline.
10 kilometers on the race track and at the airport
Two extraordinary adventures are the Hockenheimring Run and the Airport Night Run. In Hockenheim, you can chase your best time over the ten kilometers on the race track. The course record here is under 30 minutes. That's pretty fast.
The Airport Night Run in Berlin will also be a special memory. There you can run the half-marathon distance or the 10 kilometers. The run takes place in the spring in the evening on the Schönefeld airport grounds. As you can see on the picture, the participants had a lot of fun.
Other classics
The SportScheck city run series has been very popular in Germany for years, stopping off in many large cities. Here, too, you can set a personal best over the 10 kilometers on mostly flat and beautiful circuits through the city. The same goal can also be pursued at the S25 Berlin (formerly Big 25 Berlin), which, in addition to the 25-kilometer race and the half marathon, also includes a ten-kilometer race in which several thousand athletes participate. Not to forget the Bocholt City Run, which has been held since 2000. On the 2.5-kilometer circuit, you can run four laps through the beautiful inner city along with several thousand other starters. Womens only, on the other hand, is the motto of the AVON Women's Run in Berlin, where you can compete not only over the five kilometers, but also over the double-length course.
